During your interview for exercise 3, ask how the evaluator managed the study. What did professional evaluators do? Research assistants? Clerical staff? What kinds of tasks were accomplished by internal staff? What was their connection to the program and how were they trained? How did the lead evaluator monitor the timeline? Finally, see if she will give you a copy of the budget and ask her how she determined some of the costs. Did costs change as the project developed? Bring the budget to class and compare it with budgets obtained by other students.
