Evaluators will become more aware of and involved in the work of planners, policy analysts, and organizational developers. Evaluation activities overlap with the work of policy analysts, planners, and organizational developers. Evaluators have approaches and qualitative methods that could contribute to the work of policy analysts. They have economic and analytic methods that could add to the repertoire of evaluators. Similarly, city planners and program planners collect information in ways that are similar to an evaluator conducting a needs assessment. Evaluators’ skills in developing logic models and program theory can help in program planning. We predict that more communication will occur across these fields, with professionals sharing approaches and methods. As noted previously, the work they do may not be called evaluation, but evaluation professionals will be bringing their evaluative skills to the tasks.
