A college committee considered recommending approval of a proposed multidisciplinary program, say, psychology and law. What might the committee learn from a needs assessment? What might they use from a study of the jobs or further study of the alumni of the college’s undergraduate programs? How could the committee encourage a learning climate among their colleagues in the college when the recommended proposal is presented to a larger, decision-making body?
