The researcher can also obtain data regarding the feelings of an interviewee concerning the issue under consideration. On this note, it is essential to use an interview during this process of research.

This research will use focus group discussions as a method of collecting data. The discussions will be centred on culture and how it influences the performance of teachers in public schools. Focus groups provide for a moderator, and his role is to ensure that the conversation focuses on the issue at hand (Smith, 1999). He encourages participants to engage with one another, without showing signs of domination. The groups are also important because they are dynamic in nature, and a researcher has the capability of collecting data that reflects the opinions of various members of the group.
