Bow, 2009 article poses a political question to the public, ‘what does it mean to be classified as a nonbinary or between categories of state enforced identity’? The author used scholarly articles to demonstrate how transgenderism contributes to a deeper understanding of racial segregation and how this sparks challenges in the existing social structures. The article is useful to my research as twinning transgender and transracial in the society causes political Valance and uncertainty. However, the film Mai’s America portrays only American culture, this can pose as a limitation. Furthermore, I will have to do more in-depth research into the link between transracial and transgender because this article is more one-sided towards exploring racial segregation. This article will be used for supplementary information for my argument on the pressure posed on political bodies.
