Write a response to Personal Reflection #2, p. 302 in Sims and Stephens – Ritual

Have you taken part in a ritual that marks an important event in one of the groups you belong to? Describe the ritual and talk about what it meant to you—did your status change? Did you feel a greater sense of belonging? Did you gain any special privileges or responsibilities as a result of taking part in the ritual? If you cannot think of a personal experience, describe your experience in someone else’s ritual.

Did reading the posts of your classmates make you think of other rituals that you have participated in? Please comment on two of your classmates’ posts. In your response, reflect upon any recognizable cultural elements or share your curiosity of the traditions mentioned.
