is good advice, a friendly suggestion to help us do good or carry out a value. Example: Bodies grow best with 8 hours of rest.

comes from the Greek "ethos" which means the common attitudes, beliefs, and charcteristics of a group or time period.

defined as knowledge based on human experience, reason, and God's revelation that discovers what we ought to do to live fully human lives.
