Instructions

The purpose of this assignment is to compose an outline of your final paper. And then provide a copy of the outline to the instructor using this worksheet/quiz form. Your outline is due at the end of Module 5, the final paper is due at the end of Module 7.

Compose your outline directly in this worksheet/quiz OR in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) from which you can copy/paste your answers. The outline should address each of the 10 items listed  below. You will be required to include five (5) references. The references can include resources from the assigned textbook, periodicals, websites, or resources from the Excelsior College library. Each item should be answered in no more than one paragraph. You will have the opportunity to expand on your work in the final paper.

To begin, find a newspaper article that illustrates an ethical dilemma in a health care setting  that you feel strongly about. (clipping, link, or other source) 

1. Briefly describe the ethical dilemma. 
2. What is your desired outcome for the ethical dilemma you’ve selected?
3. Describe an ethical principle that applies to the ethical dilemma.
4. Describe a second ethical principle that applies to the ethical dilemma.
5. Describe how one (1) ethical theory applies to the ethical dilemma.
6. Describe how you would make an ethical decision for the ethical dilemma using either the PYTHON principle OR the Doherty & Purtilo 6 step process.
7. Choose a policy, either federal, state, or municipal and explain how it applies to this ethical dilemma.
8. During the process of writing this outline, would you still recommend the original outcome? Why or why not?
9. Provide the article link, clipping, or document. 
10. List five (5) references you plan to use for your final paper in APA format.
