Merits:

Demerits:

2) Aggressive sales - For gaining high commission highly motivated Salesforce may tend to approach their job aggressively which may results in short term sales increase but in long run the company may lose many customers due to their tactics pressure or aggressive approach.

3) Affects team Dynamics - Working with employees who earn more commission can trigger envious emotions and unhealthy competition.

A blended approach is the best to maintain a balance . A base salary should be provided to the employees for their sales and other routine functions. And commission can be paid for the additional sales made. This can create a more balanced and effective work environment which are beneficial for both the company and the sales person.
