My personal belief is that a judge should remain on the bench, as long as they still have the mental capacity to make decisions

Writing Sep 24, 2020

My personal belief is that a judge should remain on the bench, as long as they still have the mental capacity to make decisions. Age should never play a factor as to when someone should retire. Just look at the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg, also known as “The Notorious RBG”. Ginsberg who remained on the Supreme Court, until she passed away last Friday night at the age of 87. Even though she was suffering from pancreatic cancer, she was still able to make decisions (even from home during the pandemic), plus she was till sharp as a tack with her wit, and her decision making. Forcing someone to retire at a specific age, is not only discriminatory, but almost illegal regardless of whether they can protect the people or not. Share your thought and comment as you see fit.
