In the last 15 years or so, several European soccer teams have gone public. For example, the shares of stock of Borussia Dortmund, which was Ger- many's first publicly traded soccer team, are traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. You hear the following statement from a friend of yours: "I would never buy any soccer stocks; their price is too volatile, as those soccer teams play every week, and depending on the game outcome their price may go up or down a lot; in other words, soccer stocks are too risky and useless for rational investors, they're just good for soccer fans and for those people who don't know anything about finance!".
