1. What are some types of organizations that may need to evaluate strategy more frequently than others? Why? Please conduct additional research and cite accordingly.

Organizations which operate in very dynamic, fast paced and competitive business environment or industry or markets tend to evaluate their strategy more frequently than others. Examples of such industry will be fast paced industries such as information technology/ecommerce, etc. where new developments take place on a continuous basis and only those companies succeed which can adapt to changes in a very quick and efficient manner.

If organizations in such dynamic industries will not review their strategies periodically, they will fall behind their competitors who will take advantage of changing market dynamics must faster than these companies. Thus, it is extremely necessary for such companies to make changes to their existing strategies in order to adjust to the market dynamics.

2. How does strategic management allow an organization to take a proactive stance towards shaping its own future? Please conduct additional research and cite accordingly.

Strategic management provides the much needed direction, mission, vision, goal and objective for the organization to move forward. Further, strategic management provides the broad guidelines and framework for the entire organization to operate, thus making it sure that it makes the stance towards the future along the desired path/guidelines and does not deviate from its intended course of action. By clearly defining the goals and objectives, it eliminates confusion and leads to clarity of thinking for the employees of the entire organization. It provides confidence to take proactive actions to achieve the stated goals and objectives.
