Businesses' CSR departments are recreating ancient water institutions to solve the water crisis and give communities authority over their water. Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) is the CSR arm of industry leader Ambuja Cements Limited. To improve water access and year-round capacity, ACF is restoring and maintaining historic water structures across India by tackling siltation and leakages. ACF also educates residents about water conservation and structural maintenance, monitoring, and repair. ACF's community education includes water quality audits. ACF educates on water quality and health dangers. Community water audits teach sustainability.
