Kennedy, Jr., founder of the environmental group Riverkeeper and self-proclaimed champion of offshore wind-energy production, was quoted in a 2003 New York Times story as saying, "I am all for wind power [but] the costs...on the people of this region are so huge,...the diminishment to property values, the diminishment to marinas, to businesses...People go to the Cape because they want to connect themselves with the history and the culture."
