Please read the Global Themes and Sources section for Chapter 11 (Causes and Effects of the Black Death). After reading Primary Sources 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, and 11.4 answer at least two of the following three sets of questions: (A) "How do the responses to, and the effects of, plague in the Muslim world (as reported by al-Wardi, In Khaldun, and al-Maqrizi) compare with those in Florence (As reported in The Florentine Chronicle)? (B) What patterns in explaining causation and effects of plague do you detect in these sources? How do the various causes and effects explicitly or implicitly discussed in each text build on one another? (C) "Based on your reading of these sources, what do you think is the short-and long-term historical significance of the effects of the plague?
