INTRODUCTION: The purpose of social studies education and this current course is to provide you with knowledge and opportunities that will help you find your place within your community, help you become equipped to make ethical and informed life-choices, and prepare you for your future in a democratic country. In order for our freedoms, communities, and our democratic country to remain well-preserved, we need caring, active, and informed citizens.

For this week's discussion topic, I am curious to know how you see yourself in connection to your community or how you see yourself participating in your community/politics when you are older.The term 'civic identity' is your beliefs, knowledge, habits, and sense of responsibility to your community or country.
