The end of the 19th-century was a time of excitement and anticipation, but it was also a time of anxiety. There was a sense that something was ending and a new unknown world was emerging. Using your textbook and the course materials choose the artifact (Gislebertus) and explain how it fits with either the excitement of anxiety of the fin de siecle.
