A 36 year old female presenting with concerns of infertility. She has been trying to get pregnant for the past 2 years but with no success. The patient is concerned that her husband and her have not had enough intercourse to get pregnant because she occasionally has severe pain during intercourse. The patient reports having prolonged cessation of menstrual cycles with accompanying abdominal pain and constipation. The patient reports that the pain is much more intense during menstruation and the pain is not relieved by the use of hot compresses or medication such as Advil. The patient reports the pain is radiating from her lower abdomen to pelvis area. She rates her pain to be a 7 on a scale ranging from 1-10, with 1 being the lowest pain and 10 being the highest pain. The patient reports that her cycle is often irregular, sometimes lasting up to a month or occasionally having no period at all.
