The air quality in Florida is very low and the pollution levels are very high. This is because of the fact that Florida has many water bodies around and thus there are lots of bugs in that state. To help control them, there a high use of pesticides and herbicides which are poisonous. The excessive use of these chemicals results in the pollution of the air, water as as well as the soil. Also, there are power plants in Florida which emit a lot of mercury in the atmosphere. These powerplants are powered by coal and thus resulting in a high level of mercury in the air that is harmful to people's health.
Additionally, the aspect of legacy contamination where  properties are turned into dumping sites and later turned into recreational parks is another pollution challenge. This is because such have high levels of contaminants and these are places that are frequented by people. This poses a high risk threat to these people.
