Oyesil investigates the future of six crypto currencies and tries to predict their popularity and rise by the use of search engines. The crypto currencies popularity is predicted from 2017 through to 2019 and the results are displayed inform of scatter plots obtained from search engines. The graphics are clear and appropriate for the statistics and give a comparison of up to 3 years, a high sample size. This data will be used in my research to show the general trend of crypto currencies from their conception days up until now. Though the article is articulate and precise, the author makes a direct correlation between the search engine results and their future possibilities without taking into consideration other variables that would affect each individual form of cryptocurrency. This journal covers in a comprehensive manner the features, uses and current structures of the cryptocurrencies. In addition, comparisons between this currency and government backed, money-based currency is also made. This article provides in detail the possible risks and outcomes with regards to the future usage of crypto currencies through its informative tables, comparison and arguments. The authors in their conclusion summarize four key points of their article in a brief yet convincing writeup. Sun, Wei, et al. "Switching Intention to Crypto-Currency Market: Factors Predisposing some Individuals to Risky Investment." PLoS One, vol. 15, no. 6, 2020. This compelling article investigates factors influencing individual investors switching from the normal traditional financial markets and their investments in the cryptocurrency markets. The article deviates from others in that it focuses on the future of cryptocurrency from an individual perspective other than the common perspective of the financial markets. This will be a very useful tool in my research as I purpose to show in detail the use of crypto currencies in the financial markets and their use in a more “domestic” set up. The authors explore and illustrates how individuals invest in the ‘new form’ of currency. This article sheds light on the various ways individuals are investing in crypto currency. This study in particular contains well-researched and organized data necessary in understanding the changing world of finance. Lai, Karry. "New Rules could Enhance Credibility of Japan's Crypto Market." International Financial Law Review, 2018. Lai examines cryptocurrency’s future from a legal and regulatory standpoint. The author focuses on Japan’s crypto market and the effect on the currency under the country’s financial regulator. Although focusing on Japan, this article can further be used to predict the future of cryptocurrency under the different financial regulatory frameworks in different jurisdictions. Jacquez, Todd. Cryptocurrency the New Money Laundering Problem for Banking, Law Enforcement, and the Legal System, Utica College, Ann Arbor, 2016. This Dissertation explores the effects of cryptocurrency on the government backed money-based currency. The author draws a parallel between the use of cryptocurrency and related effects such as money laundering, its use in illicit exchanges and other financially related crimes. It is however ‘regulatory’ as the author limits the study to laws and regulatory frameworks. It however provides a good source of information on use, trade and exchange of cryptocurrency.
