APRNs play a vital role in transforming the health care system to make it more accessible, high quality, and patient-centered and have increasing opportunities in transforming health care (Brassard, 2014). My vision for the APRN role is to provide quality and compassionate care in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients. Consistent with the demands in today's healthcare, I will engage in continuous education to keep me abreast with developments in nursing, whether methodological or technological. I envision growing in value over the years and engaging in programs that will equip me with skills and expertise in providing evidence-based care interventions beyond the bedside. This will position me well to ensure the type of care is safe and results in patient care outcomes. In providing healthcare, I envision cooperating with patients, families, and other health care team members in creating high-quality and responsive care that will meet the patient's needs. My vision is to create a positive working environment that would meet the varied needs of emerging practice demands. In the different settings of care, I will strive to do my best in preventing illness, reducing suffering, and determining the care plans for the patients. As my role involves providing services in community-based settings, I will not hesitate to attend to the needs of vulnerable populations in the community when called to. Through such practices, my vision may bring cohesion in the care setting and allow me to move forward as a better nurse in the future in navigating the complex and transforming the healthcare system (APRN, 2021).
