Students are asked to write a personal reflection on their current understanding of Atlantic Canada. This open topic could include a consideration of history, politics, heritage, tourism, environment, economics, industry, language, ethnicity, the future, family, or personal experiences. Students may also consider the way in which they have formulated these ideas: formal education, opinions of family members, lived experience, news articles, promotional materials, comparison to other regions, etc. Although students are encouraged to voice their opinions, these should be supported by evidence and examples from relevant sources.

Students must use either APA in text citation (author and year), which must have a corresponding entry in your reference list

OR Chicago footnotes (bottom of the page), which must have a corresponding entry in your bibliography. Marks will be

based on (1) how well essays are organized and written, (2) follow the stated formatting guidelines for text and
