We're going to work on the final essay in two phases

Sociology Nov 13, 2022

We're going to work on the final essay in two phases. The first is the Proposal, which will consist of a thesis statement, bibliography, and outline.

For the final essay, your task is to write about a particular style of art (that list is not comprehensive, just giving you a frame of reference) from one of the forms we have discussed in class. To remind you, those forms are:

  • Pictures (paintings, drawings, engravings, and photos)
  • Sculptures
  • Architecture
  • Cinema
  • Television
  • Literature
  • Music

Choose a style from one of these artforms and then conduct research on the formal elements which make this style distinct from others in that form. You must have at least 7 sources in your bibliography, which you will use as evidence for how to identify that particular style.

The other part of the essay will consist of identifying and analyzing at least three examples of this style. Using the identifiable formal elements from your research and the formal analysis skills we have worked on this semester, you must explain why these works are examples of the style you're writing about.

The Proposal must have a thesis, outline, and bibliography which lay out your topic, research sources, and examples. It must be at least 300 words long.

IT MUST BE MLA STYLE.....

SMAPLE :-

Sources: I trust you all to find sources and format them in MLA or Chicago Style. I didn’t bother to do so for my example.
