As a character born and raised in a society where toxic masculinity was the nature of the day during battles, Mulan survives (Berland, p.93). It was not easy for her to sit and accept the identity given to her by society as a female gender with the incapability to function equally as men. Indeed, she has shown children to believe and act beyond society's borders of thinking and belief. It was a bold step taken by Mulan as female gender who could allow culture dominated by men to define her abilities. Most importantly, children watching Mulan can learn to defy the odds of demonstrating their physical strength and intelligence without fear of being judged. A character like Mulan has reshaped Disney's representation of heroines as mere social needy creatures who could not achieve anything without the help of men. Therefore, Mulan has demonstrated positive feminists’ ideas to children. Hence they can learn how to break the conventional gender roles and proactively defy to stay where society demands them. Mulan’s character influences children to embrace nonconformist personal standards. As a female character being forced to conform to the societal social norms, she maneuvered at the end without the help of men. In the process of children watching the Mulan Disney film, it inserts a series of positive feminists ideas, which can be helpful later when they are grown-ups. As demonstrated by the Feuds ID theory, humans' minds are shaped by their urgency to attain their satisfaction with sociological connection and meaning. It is not a negative perception for children to grow believing in the new possibilities that traditional Surname 2 society has never approved (Disney, 2020). Mulan continues to defy the stereotype gender mentality which dominated the Chinese culture at that time (Disney, 2020). It is a good lesson for children to use their intelligence and rise above the toxic masculinity concepts about gender roles. Going as far as dressing in men's clothes to escape gender barriers was the chances and risk she could take to achieve her goal without leaning on men. In connection to that, she went to a war zone and demonstrated the strength of physicality and intelligence better than even men. So, children can connect to the psychological and emotional needs of Mulan to think and act independently without being stopped by the consequences. The identity of gender should not be defined by the designated roles in a maledominated society. In most community settings, the female gender is told what they can achieve and what they can't achieve without the support of the male gender. In search of true identity and potential, Mulan princess offers an alternative approach to deviate from suppressing gender rules laid on the feminine gender. Although she dresses up like a man to fight in the war, that does not qualify as a negative feminist idea. Her actions in this film empower children to dream fearlessly beyond the border of masculine thinking. Surname 3 Conclusion: More than that, it teaches children not to be overly feminine and dream beyond masculinity thinking without depending on men for support. Therefore, Mulan cutting her hair and wearing men's clothes to deviate from the societal expectation of feminine beauty has positive feminist effects on children. Mulan’s character teaches children not to be defined by the societal programming of gender roles. Therefore, the feminist ideas portrayed within her role empower children to re-arrange their gender roles and identity based on values, actions, and perceptions (Berland, p.97).
