Student Learning Outcomes: After successful completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Develop a plan of study for your undergraduate degree 2. Describe student and teacher perspectives in using on-line resources like D2L 3. Explore the different aspects of Civil Engineering 4. Explain how ethics influences Civil Engineering decisions 5. Use Excel to organize data, create graphs and charts, and perform statistical operations 6. Explain and discuss problem solving methods prevalent in engineering 7. Describe what a Civil Engineering career might look like 8. Define terms used in Civil Engineering In constructing your portfolio, follow these guidelines. Your portfolio should show not only show the level of difficulty you experienced but also the level of complexity. A suggested Table of Contents for your portfolio would include the following 1. Philosophy of Learning: Describe your philosophy of learning in a paragraph or two. 2. Statement of Your Learning Goals: Describe your specific goals for this semester and school year and how you planned to meet those especially as they applied in and out of class, to the CEE 101 class concepts and activities Describe if you are meeting or have met your goals. If you have not, what do you plan to do, i.e. are you changing your goal or your strategy to meet the goal. 3. Evidence of your Learning: Describe the activities you undertook to meet the listed student learning outcomes. This section must include a narrative set of paragraphs describing how you met each individual class objective with a description of how you met that objective. The description of how you met the objective can include information from activities in this class and may include information from other classes. The number of paragraphs in this section should be eight, one for each student learning outcome. 4. Statement on learning success: Describe how you what you will do and how you will approach your degree study here at (University hame) in order so that you are successful in what you do.
