Adopting IT and data analytics will enable better decision-making in caring for individual patients and managing population health. Also, patients are using IT to transform healthcare from a passive to an active experience. Research based on richer, more real-time data will inform policy decisions in all parts of the healthcare system. For this discussion: Discuss at least two ways provider organizations can use population-level analysis and analytics for performance improvement. Assess critical success factors for data analytics implementation and unintended consequences of inserting information technology and digital health into healthcare workflows to improve quality of care and organizational performance.
