I am investigating if lower attachment anxiety (caused by insecure attachment style) results in lower satisfaction level of the relationship. This will be done by giving participants a google form survey to fill in that consists of an ECR-R and RAS together (already done by me). This will reveal the relationship between attachment anxiety and relationship satisfaction. Therefore the thesis should begin with literature review on attachment theory by Bowlby , adult attachment styles -hazan etc definition of attachment anxiety definition of relationship satisfaction , and then summarise articles and studies that investigated similar topics such as attachment anxiety and relationship satisfaction. I will desperately need someone with experience in statistics to convert my excel data into spss and do a statistical analysis and describe results. I will send the writer the excel spreadsheet with clear instructions regarding the statistical analysis. After explaining the findings , discussion of the study should be done as well as possible explanations for the finding regarding attachment etc. The thesis should end with some kind of summary and suggestions for further research.
 

The first few questions and statements are just basic info on participants.- (age, gender, relationship length-  which should also be briefly analysed in descriptive statistics (pie chart etc, any interesting findings)

 

The actual questionnaire (ECR-R) starts from the variable name - 1. I'm afraid that I will lose my partner's love.

 

*IMPORTANT* This is the ECR-R which measures levels of attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance. It has 36 items - some of them will need to be correctly scored as they are reversely scored. Some of the 18  items measure anxiety while other 18 measure avoidance - 2 seperate mean scores will have to be taken from this (anxiety and avoidance). To avoid confusion which items measure what, I am attaching a link explaining the ECR-R  (order is exactly the same on my survey from first question statement nr 1 I'm afraid that I will lose my partner's love  until  statement nr 36  My partner really understands me and my needs.)

The remaining statements 37-43 are from another questionnaire RAS.- the mean score from that will also be needed (relationship satisfaction)

Lastly ,  linear regression where: Satisfaction is the OUTCOME variable (dependent/outcome) and Ecr-anxiety and Ecr-avoidance are predictors

 

After the spss is done I would like a full analysis in words of what the results mean - does higher attachment anxiety correlate with lower relationship satisfaction, avoidance relationship should also be metioned ) This should be as detailed as possible and used as results analysis. (Also with explanations and reasoning for the interpretation of results)

 

To summarise the steps:

 

- converting a data set into spss

-getting 3 mean scores (attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance and relationship satisfaction)

-linear regression : Satisfaction(OUTCOMe variable dependent/outcome) and Ecr-anxiety and Ecr-avoidance are predictors

- describing the spss process

- detailed analysis of the result received (APA style)
