Investors Presentation for Snowbridge Resort

• GETTING STARTED

• Open the file SC_PPT19_EOM7-1_FirstLastName_1.pptx, available for download from the SAM website.
• Save the file as SC_PPT19_EOM7-1_FirstLastName_2.pptx by changing the “1” to a “2”.
  • If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.
• To complete this SAM Project, you will also need to download and save the following data files from the SAM website onto your computer:
  • Support_PPT19_EOM7-1_Skier.jpg
  • Support_PPT19_EOM7-1_SWOT.docx
  • Support_PPT19_EOM7-1_Skiing.mp4
• With the file SC_PPT19_EOM7-1_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.
  • If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

• PROJECT STEPS

1. In your role as marketing coordinator for Kalman Marketing, you develop marketing strategies for new resort developments. One of your clients, Snowbridge Ski Resort in Colorado, asks you to create a presentation for investors interested in learning more about the Snowbridge Ski Resort development.
   Begin by resetting the picture on the title slide to its original settings.
2. On Slide 2 ("OVERVIEW"), insert a hyperlink from "Contact" to Slide 9 ("CONTACT"). Remove the hyperlink from "SWOT Analysis." Edit the hyperlink on "Communication Plan" so that it goes to Slide 8 ("COMMUNICATION PLAN"). Make the yellow sun an action button that goes to the next slide in the presentation.
3. On Slide 3 ("LOCATION"), change the picture to Support_PPT19_EOM7-1_Skier.jpg.
4. With Slide 3 ("LOCATION") still displaying, flip the picture Horizontally. Resize the picture so that its height is exactly 3". Change the color saturation of the picture to 200%. Change the brightness and contrast of the picture to Brightness: -20% Contrast: +40%. Compress the picture using the default settings. [Mac Hint - Use Original Quality.]
5. On Slide 4 ("SWOT ANALYSIS"), make the yellow lightning bolt shape a hyperlink to the file Support_PPT19_EOM7-1_SWOT.docx. Edit the hyperlink to add Click to open the full SWOT Analysis as the ScreenTip.
6. On Slide 4 ("SWOT ANALYSIS"), use the content placeholder to insert a new SmartArt diagram using the Basic Matrix layout in the Matrix category. Show the SmartArt Text Pane, if it is not displayed. Enter text in the SmartArt text pane as shown in Figure 1.

 

1. With Slide 4 ("SWOT ANALYSIS") still displaying, move "Opportunities" below "Weaknesses." Close the SmartArt Text Pane. Change the height of the SmartArt diagram to 4". Change the SmartArt colors to Colorful Range—Accent Colors 3 to 4. Apply the Inset SmartArt 3D SmartArt Style.
2. On Slide 6 ("ON THE SLOPES"), use the content placeholder to insert the video file Support_PPT19_EOM7-1_Skiing.mp4. Apply the Glow Rounded Rectangle Video Style. Change the video Volume to Low. Select the option to rewind the video after playing it. Compress the video to Standard (480 p).
3. On Slide 5 ("SKI COUNTRY"), make the blue smiley face an action button that goes to Slide 6 ("ON THE SLOPES").

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
