You have been appointed the Chief Operating Officer of a company of your choice whose competitive position has been negatively impacted by the COVID pandemic. This is a fast-track position to the CEO position if you successfully turn things around. You have to submit a detailed plan to the CEO on what and how to specifically address four of the operations management areas discussed in class. These are: Operations Management Strategy Design of Goods and Services Managing Quality Process Strategies Your CEO is expecting decisive actions associated with your proposal. For example, what type of ________ would you use if _______ is an issue? Why did you choose this method? How will you address uncertainty in your______? How will you update it later if it turns out to be incorrect? The CEO doesn't like to wear reading glasses, so you'll need to write the report in Times New Roman 12. Make sure you mention the name of the company and your name early on in the report, so you keep them focused, and they know who wrote it. They also get bored quickly and will only read the first three pages, so the report should not be longer than that. Remember, your goal is to impress the CEO, so they choose you for their successor, so make sure you provide the appropriate level of detail, and you try and predict what questions they may have for you. I forgot to mention; they're not big on scientific journals, so that's fine if you need to cite. They are more interested in understanding how you think and how you would approach the challenges.
