While I will give you some general ideas, I expect you to choose the topic of your essay. However, I reserve myself the right to modify your chosen topic or assign you one in case you fail to send me a proposal by March 29 (see below). - You have to submit a proposal by 11:59 p.m. on March 29. The proposal should contain the tentative topic of your essay and possibly some short description of what you are planning to discuss. I will then send you my approval or some suggestions as to how to improve the topic. Note that my answer at this point will be very brief (usually just a “yes”). You should get my answer by 11:59 p.m. on April 2. The proposal is not part of your grade. 2
