The topic: The world's wealthiest and most powerful countries spend a great deal of money on space exploration (satellites, space station, missions to the moon or Mars). Some feel that this is a tremendous waste, and the money should be redirected towards solving Earth’s most important problems. What do you think? Should powerful nations continue to invest billions of dollars in space exploration? Your Task: write one short paragraph on the topic above, as if in the middle of your essay. Argue a clear point of your own about this topic, and then use the source below in some way, to support your point or otherwise. You can use it with a direct quote or paraphrase/summary—it's up to you. You must include a correct in-text citation. Investing in Further Scientific Exploration of Space is a Good Use of Resources that will Ultimately Help to Stimulate Global Economies By Piers Bizony, published in Engineering and Technology, January 1, 2017. ...for me, it's more important than ever to reintroduce a sense of physical exploration, to get out there into strange, hostile and challenging environments. There is probably 99 per cent of deep oceans and all of space left to explore, and it is only by putting humans into new physical locations that we'll be able to make genuine and crucial scientific discoveries. ... Some will say that we're in the deepest economic crisis since the 1930s and we simply don't have spare pocket money for this. However, one of the most successful responses to the Great Depression of the 1930s was to pump money into infrastructure and technology – it was called Roosevelt's New Deal. It was controversial at the time, but by the end of that decade, the USA was the most powerful nation on Earth. Bizony (2020) in his research found that powerful countries should continue investing billions into space exploration since it is headed towards solving the challenges on the earth's surface. Habitability is the main concept, and the need to focus on an ideal scenario is good. The earth is overpopulated, and space may offer better solutions to help in reducing the congestion as required (p. 20). With the billion investments, new findings may yield fruits and help in solving the problems on the earth's surface. As a good solution to the earth and global problems such as global warming, space exploration may yield better results and help in overcoming the challenges and threats in the various places on the earth's surface.

The ozone layer depletion is a major challenge in the earth. Spending billions of dollars into space exploration is a great approach to reduce the global problems. A key solution to help the world is to set-up a space and explore into the space whereby better solutions can be found (Bizony 2017, p. 20). Overpopulation can be solved by finding habitable planets in the space, or places where innovation and industrialization can be done. Good manufacturing can work to help solve the major problems and address the foundational objectives of making the earth a better place.
