My name is Abiodun Fashoro; I am a Nigerian residing in Houston, Texas. I work in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as I pursue a degree in Management Information System. My main objective in pursuing the degree is to enhance my knowledge in criminal data analysis. Technology is an essential part of my daily routine as a student and an officer in the criminal justice department. Besides, technology implies applying scientific knowledge for practical purposes (Daghan, 2017). Notably, to meet my tight schedule of working and being a student, electronic technology has had an immense impact on my daily life. Through technology, I can access my course contents through e-learning whenever I am out of college. I can also communicate through my smartphone with my colleagues and tutors whenever I am busy at work. Therefore, using technology has made my life easier by ensuring flexibility on my daily schedule and fulfilling my student and criminal justice responsibilities.
Moreover, technology directly influences my career as a criminal justice officer, particularly as a data analyst in the department. The use of data management software enhances the data processing capacity and information sharing in our department and across the entire Texas criminal justice organization (Brayne & Christin, 2021). Data interpretation has also become easier hence reducing errors. Therefore, technology plays a significant role in the justice system and will continue to influence the operations in the department.
