e What is the purpose of the study (theory testing and/or model validation related
objectives)?

e What ts the research gap or knowledge gap as identified by the study? How does the
paper aim to fill in that research gap?

e What are the major findings?

Part Ill
Assessment of research design, data and method:

e How suitable ts the research design for the research goal of the article?

e What is the source of data for the article? Describe the time period covered by the data,
the number of observations, the key variables, procedure of data collection etc.

e Measurements of variables (Operationalization) — How did the researcher(s) measure
the variables (both dependent & independent variables)? How appropriate are the
measurements? How else could the variables be measured?

e Are you satisfied with the goodness-of-fit (if it is linear regression model) of the
estimated models? Explain using specific results.

Part IV
Hypothesis:

e How many of the hypothesized relationships are supported by the analysis?

e Are there sufficient explanations for the hypotheses that were not supported by the
analysis?
