Please provide a persuasive statement on social responsibility and the role that business leaders should play both locally and abroad

Business Social Responsibility

Businesses thrive if they focus on the communities they serve. Therefore, businesses need to take up social responsibilities in the communities they operate in and society at large. Businesses and business leaders should focus their social responsibility on the environment, ethics, philanthropy, and the economy (Stobierski, 2021).  Business leaders can take up environmental responsibility by reducing environmental pollution, increasing reliability to renewable energy, and offsetting negative environmental impacts in the communities by doing cleanups and planting trees. They can also take up social responsibility regarding ethics by ensuring that there is fairness when serving all business stakeholders. Philanthropic commitments force business leaders to make society and the world a better place to live by donating to charity organizations or creating their charity organizations to champion a better community for human living. The economic, social responsibility for business leaders calls for a business entity to back all its financial decisions with the aim of impacting the environment, people, and the economy they serve positively (Stobierski, 202). Taking up these social responsibilities would result in positive effects both locally and abroad. For example, planting trees in one community would result in a reduction of carbon footprint.

The role of businesses is to produce goods and services, which subsequently serve their business communities. The goods and services produced by businesses are consumed by their customers, who are part of the large global society and thus promote global economic growth and development. The social responsibilities taken by businesses locally have far-reaching impacts, which progress to the international economy. For example, bettering the economy of the community a business operates in contributes to national economic development and the global economy in some way. The effects of social responsibilities taken up by businesses in the communities they serve are felt even abroad.
