In most cases, the main message of the music determines how various elements are going to be used.  For example, love songs usually have strong vocals which am at getting the listeners into the mood. The tempo or rather the speed of the music varies depending on the kind of reaction the musicians want to get from the audience.  Basically, mood, feelings and idea are strengthened by best implementation of various elements which suit the main aim of the musician.  

2. What elements should you incorporate to better evoke a mood, feeling or idea

Some of the elements that should be incorporated in evoking mood, feeling or idea include clear and strong vocals which should be well accompanied with instruments such as guitar and piano.  The aim of this is ensuring the message is well delivered in the best way possible. Another element is also the sound, whereby the right pitch, timbre and appropriate duration also need to be observed.

Some of the historical events that influenced music include social matters such as Black Lives Matter movement, which was created in protecting the rights of black people.  We also have world wars, which had a great impact in music creation. Through these events, songs such as national anthems were created, patriotic songs as well as political campaign songs.

Styles, which in this case refer to the way in which musical elements are presented have a direct impact on the meaning and purpose of song.  First of all, the style in which a music is presented makes it easer for the audience to determine whether it’s a country music, hip-hop, jazz, rock or any other. This therefore creates a specific mood in a person which in turn determines whether or not the message being shared will be well delivered. In other words, the style of the music gives a person a reason to listen or not listen to a specific piece based on the personal preferences.
