Instructions For this assignment you will research a specific country (1) in the Spanish-speaking world and write a Country Report that consists of three (3) sections: 1. Overview (150-200 words) 2. Personal Reflection (150-200 words) 3. List of Current Events Articles (75-100 words) The Country Report will help build the foundation for your Final Research Project for which you will analyze a current event/topic of the country you have selected. The Country Report will be approximately 400 words in length. Your report must be formatted using APA 7th edition and include a list of references. Guidelines: To begin, choose a country and a current event/Topic from the List provided. You must sign up on the countries & topics list. (write your full name next to your selection. If you fail to sign up by the due date at the end of Week 2, your instructor will assign you a country and a topic on Week 3. To find relevant academic sources, please visit the Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. You may use it as a starting point i.e. to familiarize yourself with your country and topic) but you cannot use it as one of your sources. Please ensure that you use your own words and that you cite or reference your sources properly 1. Country Overview (150-200 words) • Find two (2) sources (newspaper or magazine articles, opinion pieces, academic articles, etc.) to help you understand important aspects of your selected country (location, history, customs, traditions, politics, etc.). • Provide a brief description, in your own words and using complete sentences, of the country. Focus on specific areas location, geography, history, customs, traditions, politics, etc.). Since this assignment is meant to help you prepare for your Final Project, it is advisable to ensure that the areas you select are related to the country's Current Event/Topic. For example, if you're interested in lithium mining in Bolivia, it would be useful to research and describe Bolivia's geography 2. Personal Response (150-200 words) • Using the sources you located for your Overview, write a Personal Response that addresses the following questions: 1. Why did you choose this country and topic? 2. What have you learned so far about the country? 3. Is your selection related to you or your field of study in any way? • You may use a personal response starter (refer to the Personal Response Starters in the Final Research Guidance attachment). 3. List of Current Events Articles (75-100 words) • Search for three (3) articles written no earlier than 2018 on the current event/topic of the country you have selected • Provide a complete list of the articles. These articles will form part of your Final Research Project, so select carefully. Ensure that you follow all the criteria (Refer to Main Articles Criteria in Final Research Guidance attachment). .
