OVERVIEW 
You will be provided with a relevant written article. Read the article carefully, then: 1. Analyse the relevant content by summarising the main points and key supporting detail, so far as possible in your own words. • Your summary should be between a quarter and a third of the original length and certainly no longer than 500 words. It would be helpful to mention what sort of reader the article seems to be intended for and what it is trying to achieve. You can use bullet points if you find it useful. 2. Evaluate the success of the article, taking into account the writer's purpose(s) and intended reader. You should: •Assess the accuracy, sufficiency and relevance of the information in the article: does it cover relevant points? Does it say enough? Too much? Is it balanced in its coverage? If there is a particularly relevant and well-expressed point, quote it. • Consider to what extent the language or style suits the intended reader (quote an example to back up your opinion). • Comment on the effectiveness of structure (consider the way the information is paragraphed and the order in which it is presented). • Evaluate presentation: the extent to which layout and formatting enhances the content (use of headings, colour etc). Your whole evaluation is likely to be about 350 words in length.
