A Definition

According to my understanding, Artificial Intelligence is the imitation of human knowledge into a machine designed to behave like humans, thus copying their behavior. This implies that the term can be applied to any machine that exhibits human-like behaviors. I think AI is the incorporation of human intelligence into machines because for a long time, humans have wanted a program that can behave like a human being. For instance, a program that can think, talk and take in instruction. Human knowledge and intelligence are hence incorporated into machines that work on command.

AI Opinion

I have always believed that the ultimate goal of AI includes learning, perception and reasoning. Its application in various industries is self-evident. For instance, in the healthcare industry, various technologies are applied to machined that constitute AI. I have constantly been reading papers explaining that machines are taking over, which is happening quickly. Millions of job positions are being rendered useless every year due to improvements in AI, and this sounds like a bad thing. Just recently, AI was believed to be at par with human experts in medical diagnosis. I believe that AI is contributing positively to the future. Various activities are being made easy through the application of AI. Therefore, I have always thought that the advancement of AI shows that we are progressing as a civilization. If nothing changes in technology, that would be a sign of stagnation and that humans aren't working for the future. Different fields are advancing due to AI development. Accounting, medicine, sports, and education are just a few fields that have benefited tremendously through AI development. Since various fields are advancing, I believe that the technology is currently available and is improving these departments. The application of AI to automate human jobs has been considered a good thing by most businesses. This is because machined require little human intervention and don't have extra financial costs like humans (Frankenfield, 2021).

AI Technologies

1. Smart assistants (SIRI)

Programed assistants have recently been a common tech applied in smartphones and other devices such as computers. They can act as a human secretary, and a common example is SIRI which has been common in Apple products. The assistant uses machine learning technology to get smarter, thus making it a better assistant. This technology is artificial intelligence because it is doing what humans would otherwise do themselves.

2. Manufacturing robots

Almost every major company today has a manufacturing robot. This has improved the automation of activities, thus making them safer and faster to accomplish. Additionally, the machines have higher accuracy compared to humans. This technology is artificial intelligence since it is replacing most of the work humans do in manufacturing plants. This is a good thing because some activities are too dangerous for humans, and thus the manufacturing robots can complete them (Aziza, 2019).

3. Self-driving cars (Tesla)

Imagine a future where drivers aren't needed. Instead, the car just takes you where you want to go. Well, the future is already here. Currently, some cars self-park, and this is an example of self-driving cars. Tesla is one of the companies working on this technology, and it has launched a fleet of self-driven vehicles. This technology is Artificial Intelligence since it is automating human activities and incorporating them into a machine.

4. Video Assistant Referee (VAR)

European football is one of the most famous sports around the world. Like other sports, soccer needs a referee, but technology has been introduced to assist referees in areas they lack. The VAR can pick up play and report it to a central server for confirmation. This is Artificial Intelligence since VAR is automating refereeing activities. Having a technology that could one day replace referees may sound like a bad thing, but it is the work of AI in improving play.

AI Perception

AI has greatly been perceived as a good thing in most industries and locations. For instance, most nations that rely on the application of technology have expressed that AI is a good thing. This is because technology has played a significant role in automating human activities into machines. A research study established that Singapore scored the highest in reacting that AI was a good thing. All industries have improved due to the application of AI. Fields such as education and health care have greatly improved, leading to a positive perception from these industries. Governments are looking for different ways to improve their security, and they have all turned to one technology which is AI. AI has greatly improved security, with most nations using AI to create machines that assist in their deference and attack. For example, Israel has introduced a technology called the "Iron Dome," a mobile air defense system that can detect impending air danger and deter it. Through the application of AI, Israel can defend itself, thus improving the security sector. AI has improved most practices compared to its destruction level. This implies that the pros outweigh the cons, and therefore the perception of AI is that it is a good technology (Johnson & Tyson, 2020).
