SCI3301(ADDICTION AND OBSESSION) Each student will select a celebrity of their own choosing who has had an addiction problem with either alcohol or drugs or other behavioral addictions, such as gambling, eating, dieting, shopping, sex, etc. Students must research the celebrity and their addiction, and analyze how the addiction has affected the celebrity from a biopsychosocial perspective and how gender, race and class has played a role. Students must also discuss addiction treatments and approaches that were undertaken, and/or suggest possible strength-based treatments and harm reduction approaches that the celebrity could have taken. This must all be analyzed in a 3-4 page, double-spaced paper. Be sure to select appropriate and reliable resources (at least 3 articles, books, etc.) to discuss and analyze the celebrity addiction case. Students must provide in-text citations in the body of the paper itself, and a Works Cited or References section that is formatted in APA style, and contains at least 3 sources.
