1) What is a statements of fact you have heard lately, or statements of fact you already know or observe, such as from your news sources or personal experiences? What are your opinions about those facts, and statements on your opinion.

Example:

Facts: Covid-19 is an airborne virus that has killed 550 thousand people in the United States so far.

Opinion about the fact: Covid-19 is a horrible illness and should be taken very seriously. (Note that some people might disagree)

Statement about the opinion: People should continue to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones.

2) What are some initial statements of fact, opinions, and statements on your opinions about your first (or second--if it is closely related to your first) our first choice topic.

3) Please share any anecdotes, interests, or experiences that help explain why you care about your first choice topic.

Statements on your opinion likely fall into one (OR MORE!) of the CAMELS categories:

C- Causes or effects of said fact?

A- Actions- what should be done about it?

M-Morals- what is good/bad, just, unjust, etc about fact?

E2-Existence of a phenomena or problem- what problem is said fact indicating?

Evaluations- how does the argument ask us to weighing valid options and choosing a position or product

L- Law or language interpretation

S- Social commentary--stories, song, art that usually have an implied argument about one of the above questions.
