1st discussion: Individuals trying to lose weight or increase their energy levels commonly resort to various diets and dietary supplements such as Paleo diet, Atkins diet, Mediterranean diet, DASH diet, and various weight loss/energy- marketed supplements. Research the different types of diets and dietary supplements that are marketed to the public and address the following questions in your post:

• Are there any concerns with individuals going on diets or taking dietary supplements?
• In your opinion, what diet is the best? Is there one type of diet that individuals should be following?
• Are supplements, such as multivitamins, beneficial for people to take? What does the research demonstrate?

Lastly, if comfortable, please share any diets or supplements you have tried—was it successful in achieving your short-term and long-term goals? Are you likely to continue with the diet or supplements after your research?

These Transmission-Based Precautions are designed to supplement standard precautions in patients/residents with documented or suspected infection/colonization of highly transmissible or epidemiologically important pathogens. The three categories of Transmission-Based Precautions include:

• Airborne Precautions

Include what the definition of the precaution is, when it would be implemented, and what type of personal protective equipment (PPE) a health care worker would be required to wear when coming in contact with a patient under that particular precaution.
