NAOMI’S POST:

I believe that there would still be discrepancies within the sentencing system, even though uniform sentencing would prevent a lot more gaps in between racial sentencing it will still be the gap of individuals who would get off due to judge pool. What I mean by this is there are certain people in certain positions that pay off judges, prosecutors etc, to ensure their child isn't penalized at the weight of the crime. On the other hand when it comes to lower level incomed individuals this method would provide a great example of the word justice. The positives would be murder sentencing, there are a lot of white counterparts who get to go home after murdering someone, or even police officers who just get transferred to another city. That would bridge the gap of who is wrong and who is right. The cons I can see being children who go to juvenile for theft at a grocery store or retail store, 81%  of those children are poor and needed those items, it would be a grave detriment to them with uniform sentencing. All in all uniform sentencing would only be a piece of the Utopia we all wish we had.
