According to Bickel and Jantz, the Bible is a source of undiscovered power and ability, usually represented to show us the love of God for us. As a result, the theme of love is wholly manifested in the Bible through all the things that happened before and after Jesus Christ's birth. Bickel and Jantz (1998) present to us the Bible in a simple way to understand, and their approach to handling the readings in the Bible is easily understandable.
As presented by Bickel and Jantz, the theme of love condones with my current understanding of the Bible. As for the many years I have been reading the Bible, I have come to an understanding that the things that God has done are not always about him but for us. Most of these things are usually for man's good, which represents his undying love for us.
Understanding the big picture of the Bible will come in handy in my course. Many key learning points can be related to what is indicated in the Bible, and thus it will be easy to relate the course materials to the Bible. This is especially through quoting the bible verses and showing the relationship between the course content and what is indicated in the Bible. For example, in future assignments, I will be expected to quote some bible verses to prove some points in my course. Also, while having class discussions, we have quoted bible verses.
