The Word of Double Speak

The word of double speak emphasizes on the outright lies that most people tend to perpetuate in their bid to pass a certain point. According to Lutz (1990), these lies are also commonly described as euphemisms. Mostly, people tend to tell lies or speak half-truths in a bid to ensure that they have passed a certain message that would otherwise not have passed. Ostensibly, this is because the half-truths would only serve to secure their purpose and intentions in the long run. At one time, I suffered due to double speak as I could not understand the local language of a country  I had visited since the locals were using their language and intentionally made the decision to deieve me in the course of a business transaction.
