To obtain a better understanding of why companies seek an outside auditing agency to certify their quality management system, please conduct an Internet research into three companies who have QMS certification. The first company to discuss will have ISO 9001 certification; the second, TS16949 certification, and a third with AS9100 certification. Certification of Quality Management Systems

Introduction

Quality certification is a general term that is often used to certify the knowledge used by individuals or organizations and certify a company's quality management system. Various organizations around the world can give quality certification to individuals. These certifications show that an individual understands a given quality management area and has demonstrated knowledge in that particular aspect of quality management (Demir, 2021). One example of such a certification is the Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI, and many others. There are different sets of requirements that Quality Managements Systems can be designed. The QMS for any organization can be done based on the different quality management frameworks that exist, and they are then certified by a Certification Body. Different QM frameworks can set the standards required for creating quality management systems in organizations, and others provide the philosophy that is the basis for spearheading improvements in a QMS.

It is a combination of standards from different parts of the world, especially from Europe and the U.S. these standards are bundled together for the best practices to achieve the best practices in the design and manufacture of products for the automotive industry. The majority of carmakers in the U.S. have the TS116949 Certification (Barafort, Mesquida, & Mas, 2017). An example of such a company is Dana Inc. Dana is a leading supplier of electrified propulsion systems for passenger vehicles. The certification ensures that the parts supplied by the company to other car manufacturers are up to the quality standards. One of the benefits of this certification is that it improves the relations between business processes. For example, Dana Inc can have different beneficial relations with car manufacturers because of the QMS applied to their products (Ross, 2017).

AS9100 Certification

The AS9100 certification is a widely recognized quality systems management standard used in the Aviation, Space, and Defense industry and other companies in the aviation industry. The standard provides suppliers with the requirements that they can use in creating and maintaining comprehensive quality systems that will ensure the safety and reliability of products in the Space, Aviation, and Defense industry ((Barafort, Mesquida, & Mas, 2017). An example of a company with such certification is Lockheed Martin. The certification for the company has enabled the company to engage in different practices and manufacture of devices that have been used in U.S. military missions. Furthermore, the use of the standards in creating a QMS for the company's products has made it possible for different governments and other private military contractors to trust the products produced by the company. As a result, Lockheed Martin has become profitable, not only for its products but also for its reliability in essential missions conducted by the company.
