Essay proposal: 15% of your grade (December 6, 2021). The proposal is an approximately 5-page indication of what you intend to write for your research paper. It shall include:
A) A tentative two-part title that accurately describes the title of your essay.
- First part ( generalized part of my essay) mean to give the reader an idea
- Second title is being more specific area im going to focus at or what im going to do) meant to give the reader the specific issue im going to look at.
B) An introduction that explains the title and topic and gives an indication of what the essay shall discuss, which main concepts and themes from your sources;
C) A breakdown of subsections with titles that organize your essay.
D) An annotated bibliography that lists the main sources you will be using and what they are relevant to your essay. You can always add or delete sources once you start writing the essay, however a thorough proposal makes it easier to turn that document into your final essay. Students are required to use at ( least one reading from our course. )

- 6pages

The essay will be based on one of the topics covered in class followed by a detailed analysis that expands on your topic based on sources from outside our course. The essay assignment does not necessarily need to be argumentative, but should rather aim to provide an overview of the major debates in the area. The final essay should be approximately 2500 words. For example, if you choose to write about immigration, your essay should cover what our course says about immigration by citing course materials, and then, find 5 more sources from outside of our course to expand on the topic. Use course concepts and theories to frame discussions. A bibliography is required for this assignment.

From my understanding, an annotated bibliography is like an expansion of work cited so the textbook would be considered as one source even if you’re using multiple parts of it. So you can list the textbook as one source and explain how you’ll be using it and all that.
