I need an algorithm that is able to detect life 2D and 3D shapes and estimate their area or surface area

I need an algorithm that is able to detect life 2D and 3D shapes and estimate their area or surface area. These shapes should include circles, triangles, rectangles, squares, polygons. 3D shapes should include cylinder, cube, prism, and or pyramid, sphere for 3D shapes.

Just to be clear, it must detect live 2D and 3D mathematical shapes and estimate their area and or surface area using a webcam. I am open to any modification that will help me meet these requires if you have any other suggestions.
