The experience can help improve one’s resume making it easier to get employment in future.

The article also indicates that one should prepare for life after college by building a good network, and if possible, find a mentor. According to Collier, actively networking is good for one’s career as one surrounds themselves with individuals with similar goals, and professionals who can provide mentorship. Refining social media profiles and posts is also another way to prepare for life after college. After college, one’s main aim is to become a professional in their career. As such one should create professional social media profiles such as linkedin. Additionally, a graduate should also delete any post that may be controversial and spoil their relationship with future employers or business associates.

Reflection

All in all, the article offers great pieces of advice on how to prepare for life after college. In my view, the pieces of advice are good and will be very helpful in my life after college. The advice on refining social media posts was especially good, as I believe I will have to refine some posts that may be extreme to some individuals. Planning for the next step is also critical plus planning your budget. It is not enough to say that I will look for a job. I will need a comprehensive plan on where I will stay after college, internships I can undertake, and therefore plan my budget.

Applications and Implications to my current Role

I am currently undertaking my course in sports administration. The implication is that I will most likely pursue a career related to sports administration. I should therefore expand my professional network and start connecting with individuals also in this field. I will update my linked profile and attempt to network with various professionals also in sports administration. I will also interact more with my classmates since they are also in my field and good proof useful in my future career aspirations.

I also need to start thinking about looking for a job, and case out businesses and organizations that may be possible employers in this field. I need to learn more about what these organizations do and how I can apply my skills in such organizations. I will also update my resume to fit job roles that I may apply for in future in the targeted organizations.
