In this assignment, explain how the concepts in the chapter would affect the industry of your choosing. Keep in mind that you may change industries during the course of this class, but in each post, you must clearly identify what industry you intend to use and explain the concepts in terms of that industry.

This post should be the equivalent of 1-1.5 single-spaced pages for each chapter. It should be in readable form. That means at least five paragraphs on a page. 

Side note from me:

Each chapter is treated as a different paper all within a single paper. So each chapter should be 1 page single spaced with 1 introduction paragraph 2 to 3 body paragraphs, and 1 concluding paragraph per chapter. All chapter need to be related to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

· All of these chapters are from “Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management” 4th edition by John Mangan, Chandra Lalwani, and Agustina Calatayud

· If needed I might be able to get some of the book for a reference/resource.

Chapter 1 Introduction of Global logistics

Essentially a general overview of -logistics and supply chain management, -distinguishing the two and -the theory development of both. 

Chapter 2 Globalization and International Trade

-Growth in international trade, -globalization, and -directional imbalances and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

Chapter 3 Supply Chain Strategy: Lean and Agile

Overview of the -strategy, -value chain versus supply chain, -the evolution of production, -lean production, -agile supply chains and mass customization, -combined logistics strategies, and -critical factors to consider in supply chain planning and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

Chapter 4 Service Supply Chains

-The transition to service economies, -service science, -service supply -chains versus manufacturing supply chain, and -service supply chain models and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

Chapter 5 Systems and Networks

-Systems thinking and the bullwhip effect, -supply chain complexity, -connectivity and industry design, and -connectivity and related logistics performance indices and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

Chapter 6 Transport

-Air, -road, -water, -rail, -pipeline and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

Chapter 7 Containerization

-Standardization, -shipping containers and global trade: the humble hero, -the liner shipping connectivity index (LSCI) and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.

Chapter 8 Logistics Service Providers

-Classifying logistics companies, -fourth-party logistics, -carrier responsibilities, and -selecting logistics service providers and services and how it relates to the auto parts manufacturing industry.
