[According to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), “An abstract is a brief, comprehensive summary of the contents of the paper” (APA, 2020, p. 38). The only purpose of the Abstract is to summarize the goals, purpose, findings, conclusions, and any recommendations of the essay. The Abstract allows readers to survey the contents of an article quickly and, like a title, it enables persons interested in the document to retrieve it from abstracting and indexing databases. Introduction

Include an introduction to the paper by describing indicating what the research is about. Tell the reader what the focus of the research is and state the hypotheses or research questions.    

Procedures of the Study

Identify the subjects and the procedures used in the study. This can be found in the Methods Section.

Variables or Research Questions

Present the variables and how each was measured.  Be specific.  Identify the name of the measurement and a brief description of each.  

Discussion of Results

Discuss the results of the study.  Did the data support the stated hypotheses?  Use the results and discussion section for this.      

Critique of the Study

Critique the study.  Specify what was done well and what could have been improved.  Some other questions to answer include:  

· Was the research valuable? 

· Was the study practical/helpful? To whom? 

· Was the study done ethically? 

· Should more research be done in this area? 

· To whom do the results of this study affect?  

· What should be the next step to be in this line of research?

This is a short summary of the analysis.
